Sunday, November 12, the Islip Terrace Fire Department came to the rescue again. This time, it was to put more lights on the community’s tree at Connetquot and Lowell Avenues. We are all thankful for their volunteering and service throughout the year.
On a Whim, a gift boutique, on Main St. East Islip, will be celebrating their 5th year anniversary on November 3 and throughout the weekend. The owner, Cheryl Pepe, opened the doors completely on a whim, which her husband, insisted be the name. A mother to 5 and an active member of the community and volunteer for many organizations she prides herself on keeping the store and its merchandise current with all the latest trends. “It’s been a dream come true and I’ve enjoyed every day I’ve been open for business,” says Cheryl. On a Whim will be celebrating their Anniversary on November 3 starting at 10am with sales, raffles and sweet treats.
